New Marijuana Law Update in New York

Medical marijuana laws have been sweeping the country - find out how New York's new medical marijuana law will impact your company.

As the use of medicinal marijuana becomes more prevalent in New York and neighboring states, employers in New York need clarity about the constantly evolving status of the state's regulatory landscape and its interplay with Federal law.
Recently enacted regulations promise to expand the scope of New York's medical marijuana community by allowing additional products on the market, improving the experience for patients and visitors at dispensing facilities and enabling the New York State Department of Health to approve new courses that will allow prospective practitioners to complete their training in a shorter amount of time. Employers must prepare for the issues that will inevitably arise when an employee becomes a medical marijuana user.
*Please be mindful that possessing, using, distributing and/or selling marijuana is a federal crime, and no legal advice we give is intended to provide any guidance or assistance in violating federal law nor will it provide any guidance or assistance in complying with federal law. Please also note that we are not advising you regarding the federal, state or local tax consequences of engaging in any business in this industry.
