Minnesota Unclaimed Property Reporting

Learn about the current state of unclaimed property in Minnesota.

Unclaimed property laws have existed for decades. Due to state budget issues and technological advances, many states have more recently increased enforcement of unclaimed property laws. Nearly all companies have at least some unclaimed property exposure. Companies that understand and manage unclaimed property can significantly reduce exposure. Moreover, companies that have not historically complied with unclaimed property laws can avail themselves to favorable voluntary disclosure agreements. Failure to act now can result in increased exposure and harsh penalties. The purpose of this material is to educate companies on unclaimed property laws and how to best become compliant. The content will also talk about recent development and some helpful planning techniques.
