An expert in the use and management of trust owned life insurance, Michael, along with two partners, founded Insurance Trust Monitor (ITM) in 2007, the first full-service trust-owned life insurance (TOLI) outsource firm in the country. The firm has grown into ITM TwentyFirst, the largest life insurance policy management firm in the country. Currently retaining a minority ownership position, Michael now works at his new firm to help Policyholders, Wealth Advisors and Trustee maximize the value of life insurance.

He developed the life insurance curriculum at Cannon Financial Institute’s Unique and Hard to Value Assets program held on the University of Notre Dame Campus in South Bend, Indiana, and has spoken to industry associations as diverse as Top of The Table, Texas Bankers Association, Fiduciary and Risk Management Association (FIRMA), American Bankers Association (ABA), and the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA). At ITM TwentyFirst, he founded ITM TwentyFirst University that provided continuing education for thousands of peers. While there, he wrote The TOLI Handbook, a guide for trustees, regulators, and advisors. He has contributed to articles in industry publications, as well as the Wall Street Journal and last year wrote his first book, The Wealth Advisors Guide to Life Insurance.
Born and raised in Maryland, he will always have a fondness for the beauty of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, though he now enjoys living in Florida, a stone's throw from the Atlantic with his wife, Kathy.
