PETER A. STEINMEYER

PETER A. STEINMEYER is a member of the firm in the Labor and Employment practice in the firm's Chicago office. Mr. Steinmeyer practices all aspects of labor and employment law, with an emphasis on employment-related and employee benefits litigation. He also practices general commercial litigation. He was educated at the University of Virginia (B.A., 1987) and the University of Chicago Law (J.D., 1990).

Mr. Steinmeyer represents a diverse group of Fortune 500 and smaller clients in a wide range of employment litigation matters, including cases involving anti discrimination laws, breach of contract claims, trade secrets, various state tort claims, Section 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act and ERISA litigation involving single and multiple employee claims. Mr. Steinmeyer has successfully handled a large number of cases before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. In recent years, Mr. Steinmeyer has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to issues involving the electronic workplace, and he has written about these issues on many occasions. Mr. Steinmeyer also regularly teaches seminars and gives speeches on a broad range of issues involving the workplace.

MICHAEL P. BUTLER

MICHAEL P. BUTLER is a member of the firm in the Labor and Employment practice in the firm's Chicago office, where he counsels and represents management in disputes and litigation spanning a wide range of employment-related matters, from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, to employee benefits, breach of contract, and wrongful termination issues. He was educated at Rice University (B.A., 1991) and the University of Illinois College of Law (J.D., 1994).

Mr. Butler practices in all areas of labor and employment law, including litigation of statutory and common-law claims, arbitration of disputes arising under employment contracts, enforcement of confidentiality and non-competition agreements, and alternative dispute resolution, as well as contract negotiation and drafting of employment policies and handbooks. He also represents employers before state and federal administrative agencies charged with enforcing anti-discrimination statutes and wage-and-hour laws. Mr. Butler regularly advises employers on personnel policies and procedures that both meet the company's business needs and comply with legal mandates, and has provided training to both rank-and-file employees and management personnel on such issues. In addition, Mr. Butler is a frequent speaker on employment-law and litigation-related topics, both at regularly-scheduled EBG client briefings, as well as outside seminars.

SUSAN M. CORCORAN

SUSAN M. CORCORAN is a partner in the White Plains office of Jackson Lewis LLP. Ms. Corcoran has been with Jackson Lewis LLP since April, 1990. She is a graduate of Cornell University, the School of Industrial and Labor Relations (B.S., 1985), and Pace University School of Law (J.D., 1990). She is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York. Ms. Corcoran is a member of the New York State and the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York.

Ms. Corcoran has practiced exclusively in the area of employment and labor law, and regularly litigates or defends administrative matters on behalf of the firm's clients. She counsels clients on a variety of labor and employment law matters, and serves as a firm expert and resource on nationwide policy development and background investigations (including FCRA compliance issues). She regularly lectures on employment-related topics before human resource professionals and other groups. Ms. Corcoran has been an adjunct professor at Manhattanville College, teaching a masters level class on employment legal issues. She has also published a variety of articles on employment law issues, addressing Domestic Violence in the Workplace, Workplace Investigations and Sexual Harassment.

THEODORA R. LEE

THEODORA R. LEE has extensive courtroom experience and practices before all state and federal courts in California and all employment related regulatory agencies. She was educated at Spelman College (B.A., 1984) and the University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 1987).

Ms. Lee represents employers in wrongful termination and employment discrimination litigation; National Labor Relations Board matters, including representation cases, unfair labor practice proceedings, grievance arbitrations; Title VII proceedings, including race, sex, religious and age harassment and discrimination; unfair competition proceedings; state and federal wage and hour litigation; counsels employers on the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Uniform Trade Secrets Act, the California Business and Professions Code, the Family and Medical Leave Act, employee terminations, litigation avoidance, reductions in force, the development of personnel policies and procedures, workplace violence, pre-employment screening, federal and state wage and hour issues, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, trade secrets and unfair competition; drug and alcohol testing; and conducts in-house employment law training programs.
