Michael Cipriano, Ph.D.
  • Teaching financial accounting and auditing at the undergraduate and graduate levels for 15 years at various schools, most recently at the University of South Carolina (2004 to 2006) and the College of Charleston (2006 to present)
  • Initially licensed as a CPA in the state of Illinois in 1994 while working in Deloitte & Touche’s Chicago Audit Practice and spent nearly all of his time as a practitioner working with publicly-held companies on various SEC filings
  • Active with the professional accounting community, particularly in bringing students and CPAs together for networking events on campus and working with the South Carolina State Board of Accountancy on issues related to the state’s education requirements
  • Known for making energized presentations and providing perspective on the profession that many have characterized as unique and refreshing
