Meeting Your New Mexico CPE Requirements
New Mexico’s CPE requirements are set by the state’s Regulation & Licensing Department, based on guidelines recommended by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). CPE evaluations are over a rolling three-year cycle, which begins at the start of the month after your birth month and ends on the last day of your birth month three years later. During this period, licensed CPAs must complete 120 hours of qualifying CPE training. This can include live webinars and NASBA approved QAS Self-Study OnDemand courses.
No fewer than 20 credits can be earned each year of the three-year cycle. Of the total number of required credits, 96 must be in a technical subject and 4.0 must be in professional ethics.
